The event began Thursday
evening at 7PM and continued till 1.30 AM.
Twelve teams participated in a parade followed
by the national anthem of Kuwait and India.
Flood light shining
brightly with breezy winds blowing and bringing
the cool winter season at his peak did not deter
the spirited participants of 12 Teams and also
the overwhelming crowds who witnessed the
tournament.
KKMA has organized
several successful socio cultural programs and
activities in the past and the aim of organizing
this Volley ball event is to create a
sportsmanship environment among KKMA members and
the spectators. KKMA Sport Wing also encourages
its members to participate in activities which
help in one's physical growth and development.
This event is even very special as it greets the
10th anniversary of KKMA which is
going to celebrate throughout the year of 2011
by launching various social projects.
S.M Basheer did the
welcome address. KKMA Chairman Sageer
Trikarpur delivered the introduction speech.
The Tournament was inaugurated by Mr. Pancili
Varkey, Country Manager of UAE Exchange Center.
Mr. Vijayan Karayil, Honorable Secretary of ICSK
Board of Trustees was present as a Chief Guest.
Mrs. Helen Pinto, Manager Behbehani car Rental
and Hassan Yusuf president KMWA also graced the
occasion as guests.

respectively.

The Tournament was
conducted in the knockout format. 2 teams of
each pool proceeded to the quarter-finals.
All the matches showcased immense talent and
everyone was marveled by the sportsmanship of
each team. The semifinal match was conducted in
a league format and best 2 teams were qualified
to the final.
Abu Halifa - Full Joly,
DK-Shooters, & DK-Smashers were qualified to the
semi-final and displayed the thrilling game of
volleyball. Finally D.K-Smasher and DK-Shooters
reached the final, DK-Smashers won the KKMA
Challengers Cup 2011 with 2-0 sets in a close
fighting contest. The final match has
displayed one of the best entertaining and
exiting Volleyball games as both the teams had
the experienced, skilled and professional
players. KKMA-DK branch has successfully
retained the challengers’ cup in a row.
The exciting day came to
an end with the prize distribution ceremony.
KKMA Management Committee distributed the
trophies to all the winners. Najeeb of Abbasiya
Branch was awarded as the Best Smasher by Mr.
N.A Muneer, Vice-chairman of KKMA. Majid of DK
Branch was awarded as the Best All Rounder by
Akber Siddiq (Vice-Chairman of KKMA.
Winners & Runner Up
individual medals are awarded by Shabeer Mandoli
and Ibrahim Kunnil (Working President).
Special gifts to the final teams were awarded by
K. Basheer (Organizing Secretary).
The Winners Trophy was
Awarded to the D.K. Smashers by Mr. Sageer
Trikarpur (Chairman of KKMA) and the Runner’s Up
DK-Shooters were awarded by Mr. Abdul Fatah
(President of KKMA).
Match Referees were
felicitated by A.P Abdul Salam (General
Secretary) and Hassan Yusuf (President KMWA).
The successful
tournament event was conducted under the
supervision of B.M Iqbal (Vice President) with
able support from S.M Basheer (DK Branch
President) and S.M Farooq (Sports Director).
KKMA Vice-Chairman N.A Muneer concluded the
event with a vote of thanks.
