Kuwait – The Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA) hosted Eid Mehfil 2008 as a family recreational day with full of entertainment and informational activities.  A turn out of about 400 fantastic people, terrific weather and a marvelous time with delicious food, fun activities and lots of prizes, made the event an unforgettable day.  The organizers took great care to ensure maximum fun and enjoyment for all ages. It was the best way to celebrate Eid holiday with friends and family members; an easy way to know each other in a relaxed sitting.  The variety of activities gave the families a chance to socialize and get close to each other.

The programme started with a quick health check up for the participants by a team lead by Dr. Ashraf M.C.  Sageer Trikarpur, the chairman of K.K.M.A hoisted the flag of K.K.M.A and N.A. Muneer the President of K.K.M.A gave a brief description of the events.  After a walkathon around the Jleeb park, events were conducted in separate categories for men women and kids.

The female corner started the programme with an exercise demo by Ansia Banu followed by the cookery show by Nazreen.  The salad dressing competition was the greatest highlight of the event. The team spirit and innovation of the ladies added more taste to the salads.  It truly turned out to be a feast for the eyes.

Soon after the lunch break, Dr.Shameema Anwar gave a highly informative demonstration on Breast cancer.  The memory test and fun quiz conducted by Arifa Abdul Fathah made the day more lively and entertaining for the women.

For the male folks, the programs began with a health seminar on joint pains by Dr. Mohammad Shabbir, orthopediatric surgeon at Al Razi Hospital.  Various interesting games were followed such as penalty shoot out, treasure hunt, tug of war, wicket ball out, breaking the pot to name a few. 

At the same time kids were having a wonderful time enjoying the games and activities in high spirits.the kids walked away with lots of fun and plenty of prizes.

Program concluded with a raffle draw wherein a lucky family who won the lot was awarded a laptop which was donated by Logics Technologies, the sponsor of the event.

Sauda Sageer, Nafeesath Muneer, Arifa Abul Fathah, Shakeela Iqbal, Ayesha Ebrahim, Raziya Hamza, Fathima Mohd Kunhi and Maria kutty Basheer coordinated the programmes for women when Abdul Fathah Thayyil, B.M Iqbal, Ebrhim Kunnil, Shamseer Nasser, Hamza Payyannur, Mohd Basheer, C.K.Sathar and Muneer Kodi coordinated the gent’s events.  The full day kids programs were ably conducted by Mohammad Basheer, the sports wing director of KKMA.

Eid Mehfil 2008 was a great day of fun and frolic.  It was just another reflection of the successful leadership and the outstanding teamwork of K.K.M.A.
