Origin and History
In a gloomy evening of
December 2001, a group of 100 like minded people seeking new horizon for
social activities joined together decided to form a platform -- an
organization with a new vision was then born.
The Association was established on December 16,
2001 with a mission to aid and secure
development of its members who are mainly low
salaried and middle income group of Indian
nationals working in Kuwait.
A flash back on KKMA’s past year activities will
reveal that we are right on this direction by
implementing various programs to execute our
mission.
KKMA currently has 15 units in different parts
of Kuwait having unit and zonal level committees
to look after its activities.
The major achievement is the planning and
implementation of Family Benefit Scheme (FBS)
for the benefit of the organization’s deceased
family members.
The Association also have implemented a Members’
Welfare Scheme (MWS) for assisting its members
in the hour of need. The organization was able
to provide financial support to its members for
emergency medical treatment in India and provide
air ticket for returning home in difficult
conditions, etc.
The Student Adoption Program implemented by the
Association is another noble program. Under this
program, KKMA adopts poor but brilliant students
to financially support them for their college
graduate initiatives. Currently there are 44
students studying in various universities in
India. KKMA also take responsibility of ensuring
basic education of the children of its members
in the event of their death.
On social development side, KKMA was in the
forefront for resolving community matters either
financially or conveying matters to the
concerned authority. The organization recently
raised a fund towards Relief Fund for supporting
Tsunami affected compatriate in India.
The Association established a Relief Fund for
supporting the people for having a shelter and
thus helped 21 such people in Kerala and South
Canara of Karntaka State. This was in addition
to supporting several needy poor and destitute
in Kuwait and Kerala in answering their pledges.
The Association also held several entertainment
and educational programs thus carrying out
social responsibility and enhancing pride within
the organization and reinforcing reputation as a
vital Indian organization of Indian nationals in
Kuwait.
The annual Eid Milan programs which usually is
attended by more than 10 thousand people and
similarly grand Iftar parties are noteworthy
events conducted by KKMA. In addition, the
association also conducted, weekly religious
study classes, NRI Saving Seminars, Talk show on
NRI issues, Media Talk, Personality and
Leadership Development Programs, Cooking contest
for Indian Women and Student’s Drawing Contest
in the past years. The above is in addition to
numerous branch and zonal level literary and
cultural activities.
All required fund for the above activities are
generated from our members and well wishers plus
few fund raising programs such as Eid Milan
programs. The success of the organization to its
sincere members and hard working unit and
central committee leaders. In future as well the
prime focus of the Association will be its
members aid and development, he added.
